West Week 2010: Spotlight on the David Sutherland Showroom

This years West Week at the Pacific Design Center was a large success in comparison to the last, and with such a large turnout for events, we can only hope it is a reflection of the design industry's upcoming success in 2010.  Ligné attended several events throughout the week, but a showroom of particular note was that of David Sutherland.  With the recent addition of Barlas Baylar's Hudson Furniture company, their front window is dressed with the draping Mother Chandelier (seen below) over the Signature Hudson Knight Base wood slab table - an exciting twist of contemporary to add to their already significant collection of in showroom lines.

The showroom introduced their Great Lakes Collection at a morning lecture with AD Top 100 and Sutherland designer Terry Hunziker.  He presented his earliest projects from the 1980s and how they have been updated throughout the years, while still maintaining the same furnishings - emphasizing the integrity of the furniture he is designing and producing over the years.  His new collection is made from Ecoplex, a completely maintenance free material made from composite materials.
