February Product Feature:
 Peony Dressing Chair

Acrila at Maison et Objet, Paris

An impressive number of designers and design professionals turned out for this years Maison et Objet show, giving much needed success to hundreds of manufacturers who are still trying to recover from a dismal 2009.  Myself, with tens of thousands of others, flooded off the trains and into the Villepinte Exhibition Center with eager anticipation to what this years show would offer.

Acrila's booth experienced a change in design this year, switching to an overall basic white, allowing the bright colors of their contemporary acrylic furniture to pop off the walls and floor.  It was a traffic stopper, with so many designers entering into the space that there was little room to move.

All in the Details:
The Designs of Jonathan Franc

Dovetail joints and mortise and tenon construction have never been so sultry.  One glance at a Jonathan Franc piece and you know it is something worth talking about.  Shagreen detailing on tabletops and the combination of acrylic with rich woods, such as Macassar Ebony, are working testaments of quality traditional craftsmanship in a modern application.

What Ligné has come to admire the most about this new collection is the passion behind it.  Lead designer John Bossone set out to create timeless pieces that will live on for generations to come - and make a lasting impact every step of the way.  As a truly vertical company they allow designers to use them as a tool to create the ideal piece for their project.  Whether a designer needs a specific size or finish, or a completely custom design, the sky is the limit and the answer is always yes.  Style, quality and unlimited possibilities - what else could one ask for?
